The core text is fixed, but Haggadah editions are the most varied category in Jewish publishing: illustrated, annotated, scholarly, children's, and commentary editions from virtually every school of thought. Many households own several and use a different one each year.

This variety makes the Haggadah an unusually active collecting category, and older or artistically significant editions can carry value well beyond their utility. Demand concentrates heavily in the weeks before Pesach.
