# Simply Sefer

> A community marketplace for buying, selling, auctioning, and finding seforim (Jewish religious books) and Judaica.

SimplySefer is a purpose-built marketplace for the seforim market rather than a
general classifieds site. Sellers post listings with photos, condition, and
price; buyers search by keyword, category, or distance and message the seller
directly through the site.

## Key facts

- SimplySefer does not process payments and does not hold funds in escrow,
  including for auctions. Buyers and sellers arrange payment and handoff
  themselves.
- Listing types: selling (fixed price), wanted (a buyer looking for a sefer),
  and auction (time-limited, highest valid bid wins at close).
- On a selling listing the price may be a set amount, marked free, or left as
  contact for price. "Free" is a price option, not a listing type.
- Condition grades: New, Like New, Good, Fair, Poor.
- Seller ratings are one to five stars and can only be left by a buyer after
  the seller has replied in that conversation.
- A wanted listing is public; a Lookout is a private saved request that
  notifies the user when a matching listing appears.
